Year 4 : 11+ Preparation

Our Year 4 11+ Preparation course is the perfect starting point for children beginning their 11+ journey.

Starting early helps build strong foundations, reduce exam pressure later and give your child the confidence to succeed.

We gently introduce the new topics of Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning — areas not taught in most primary schools — while also strengthening and accelerating core skills in English and Maths.

Each week, students will be taught two subjects per week on rotation during a 1.5 hour session, including a short break to help them stay focused and engaged.  The children develop exam techniques, problem-solving strategies, and a love of learning in a supportive environment.

By the end of Year 4, students will be well prepared for the demands of Year 5 intensive 11+ preparation, giving them a clear advantage in grammar and independent school exams.

Year 5 : 11+ Preparation

Our Year 5 11+ Preparation course is designed for students either beginning their 11+ journey or building on the foundations laid in Year 4.

At this stage, lessons focus on Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning at a higher level, gradually preparing students to be fully exam-ready.

Each week, students attend a 1.5 hour session with two subjects taught per week on rotation to ensure balanced progress across all areas. The course develops advanced problem-solving, comprehension, vocabulary, and reasoning skills while strengthening exam technique and speed under timed conditions.

By the end of Year 5, students will have the knowledge, confidence, and strategies to perform at their best in grammar and independent school entrance exams.

Year 3 : Introduction to 11+

For parents who wish to give their child an early introduction to 11+ concepts, we offer Year 3 preparation courses.

These sessions provide a gentle, low-pressure introduction to the skills and topics that underpin Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning (VR) and Non-Verbal Reasoning (NVR).

Classes run for 1 hour, allowing children to explore new ideas in a supportive and engaging environment.

These courses are designed to build confidence and curiosity, laying a foundation for more formal 11+ preparation in later years.
